Stock news: what happened, and was it a big deal?
ATLAS gathers the news on your positions and watchlist in one place and puts the price move in context, so you can tell a normal day from news-sized one.
What it does
The news view has four parts: stories about your holdings and watchlist, world headlines with a summary, company news filtered by sector or search, and a day picker for the headlines that mattered on any day in the past year. An agenda shows upcoming results, dividends and launches for your companies.
The feature we care about is context. A 3% move is a non-event for one stock and a shock for another. Comparing today's move with the stock's typical daily move tells you which one you are looking at.
Worked example with live data
Real ATLAS numbers, prices as of Oct 26, 2026.
Live check on 8 large stocks (closing prices of Oct 26, 2026): 0 of them moved by two typical days or more. The most unusual was AAPL, at 0.8× its typical daily move; a day at 1x is just noise.
How ATLAS calculates it
Everything is read from stored data, with no AI call or outside provider when you open the page. For each stock the typical daily move is the volatility estimate from its signal, and the ratio of today's move to that figure shows how unusual the day was. A move above about two typical days is rare.
News impact notes already prepared in the company analysis appear next to the stories.
Limits you should know
Price moves and news do not always connect; a stock can move on a story that is not in the feed. The multiple measures size, not cause. Free and Starter plans see only the first headlines.

Frequently asked questions
How do I follow news for the stocks I own?
Add your positions and watchlist to ATLAS and the "For you" view collects the stories about those companies, with the context of how large the move was.
How do I know if a stock move is big?
Compare it with the stock's typical daily move. A move of two or more times that is unusual for that stock.
Does ATLAS use AI to write the news?
No. The news view uses stored stories and prepared analysis; it does not call an AI or an outside provider when you open it.
Can I see what mattered on a past day?
Yes. The world view lets you pick any day in the last year and shows the headlines that counted most that day.
